Chen Yi’s Shuo opens this program with a shimmering, sparkling amalgam of folk singing from her native China. Anne-Marie McDermott takes the stage to perform the dazzling and exquisite Mozart Piano Concerto #25, K. 503 in C Major. Following intermission, the program closes with Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 5 “Reformation,” featuring Martin Luther’s well-known chorale, “A mighty fortress is our God.”
