Lied Center for Performing Arts
In celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday in 2020, LSO triumphantly concludes its journey to perform all nine of his symphonies with the monumental Symphony No. 9 (Choral). Joining LSO onstage are vocal soloists Icy Simpson-Monroe, Rebecca Shane, Ariel Merivil, and Jeff Keele as well as the full forces of a choir comprising the Abendmusik Chorus, Doane University Choir, Doane Collegiate Chorale, and Nebraska Wesleyan University Choir. Paired with the Ninth Symphony will be the premiere of Jake Runestad’s newly-orchestrated work, A Silence Haunts Me, a poignant choral piece with text based on Beethoven’s Heiligenstadt Testament.
Single tickets available for $35/15, Youth 17 & under $5
[includes all taxes, ticketing and facility fees]
Since the Lancaster County COVID-19 Risk Dial is currently in the Green (indicating a low risk of COVID-19 spread), LSO will not require proof of vaccination from audience members for the April 22 “Beethoven’s Ninth” performance, and regular seating configuration will be utilized throughout the auditorium. Masks are encouraged, but not required; LSO staff members will wear masks at all times while assisting audience members in the concert hall. Concessions will be available at intermission.
