Jordan Ellis joined the LSO team as Operations and Library Assistant in the fall of 2023, after serving as on-call library assistant since 2017, and performing with the orchestra as a substitute violist and violinist since 2015. Jordan assists with all aspects of library organization and production management, and coordinates LSO’s Harmony in Healing outreach program.

Jordan has been an active member of music communities throughout Nebraska since 2006, when she moved here to study at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Jordan earned her Bachelor of Arts in 2013, and Master of Music in 2017, both in Viola Performance, with emphasis in chamber music, additional studies in dance, and a minor in German. Ever since her college days, Jordan has been a member of some of Lincoln’s most notable independent bands, now going on ten years with art-rock quintet Universe Contest, and recently joining experimental chamber music project, Leaves Brown Ensemble. All the years of touring, recording and band life are proving to be incredibly valuable during LSO productions, and have also allowed Jordan to share aspects of this experience as a volunteer at Omaha Girls Rock camp.

In addition to LSO, Jordan has been a viola/violin teacher to dozens of young musicians since 2010, and is proud to be a team member at Lincoln’s newest record store, First Day Vinyl.

Whenever possible, Jordan enjoys a little trip out of town, or a quiet night at home with a knitting project.
