Jordan Ellis has been with Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra since 2015, when she first joined the ensemble as a substitute violist. A few years later, she began helping with library work and special events, then officially joined the production team in 2023 as Operations and Library Assistant. Jordan now serves as Orchestra Manager and Librarian, coordinating orchestra personnel, overseeing production logistics, and maintaining LSO’s music library. She enjoys the constant activity and challenge of working behind the scenes – especially diving deep into library tasks, and working with our musicians to coordinate the Harmony in Healing music outreach program.

In addition to her work with LSO, Jordan has taught private lessons in viola and violin since 2010. While maintaining an active lesson studio, she has also gained a wide variety of musical experience teaching in schools and music camps, touring, and working in music venues, instrument shops, and a record store. Jordan has been an active musician in local bands, and is currently playing with Leaves Brown Ensemble; a multi-disciplinary chamber music group, performing original, collaborative compositions.

Jordan is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she earned a Master of Music degree in 2017, and Bachelor of Arts in 2013. Jordan majored in Viola Performance with emphasis in chamber music, additional studies in dance, and a minor in German.
