LSO’s Encore Club is made up of individuals who have included LSO in their estate planning documents. A planned gift to Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra allows you to ensure that LSO serves our community for generations to come. LSO works with the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra Foundation, which exists to manage endowment gifts. Proceeds are directly used to benefit LSO, and account for 12% of LSO’s operating budget. The LSO Foundation has assets of $3 million, and LSO receives earnings each year based on the current market value of the assets. Consider making a planned gift today in one of the following ways:

IMMEDIATE GIFT
See the immediate results of your generosity by giving an outright gift to the endowment. Donate assets that have been held for more than a year and have appreciated in value, such as stocks, bonds, mutual funds, or real estate. Give a vacation home or other properties you no longer use. Or, simply make a monetary donation with cash, check, or credit card. All gifts are deductible for income tax purposes.

ESTATE PLAN BEQUEST
Receive a federal estate tax deduction by naming LSO in your estate plan. Donate a specific dollar amount, a fixed percentage of your estate, or the residue of your estate after you have provided for family and loved ones.

RETIREMENT PLAN GIFT
Avoid the double taxation of estate and income taxes by giving LSO some or all of your retirement assets (such as an IRA, 401(k), Keogh, 403(b), or other employer-sponsored retirement plan). LSO can be your primary or contingent beneficiary.

CHARITABLE TRUSTS
Receive fixed payments for life and savings on your income taxes using charitable trusts to transfer money, securities or other assets to LSO.

LIFE INSURANCE GIFT
Receive a current income tax deduction and possible future deductions while making a large gift to LSO with little cost to you. You can name LSO as beneficiary, or owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy, or as a secondary or contingent beneficiary in the event your primary beneficiary dies before you.

BENEFITS OF THE ENCORE CLUB

• Your gift ensures that LSO will have perpetual support for providing concerts, opportunities for children to be involved with music, and community outreach events.

• Your name will be listed in the program magazine.

• You will be invited to an annual event for Encore Club donors.

• At the level of $100,000, you may endow a chair in the orchestra. Your designated name will be listed in the concert program magazine on the orchestra roster for twenty years.
