In celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday in 2020, LSO triumphantly concludes its five-year journey to perform all nine of his symphonies with none other than the monumental Symphony No. 9 (Choral). Joining LSO onstage are Gwenna Fairchild-Taylor, Rebecca Kouma Shane, Ariel Merivil, Nicholas Davis, and the full forces of a choir comprising the Abendmusik Chorus, Doane University Choir, Doane Collegiate Chorale, and Nebraska Wesleyan University Choir. Paired with the Ninth Symphony will be the Nebraska premiere of Jake Runestad’s new work, A Silence Haunts Me, a poignant choral piece with text based on Beethoven’s Heiligenstadt Testament.
