A Night at the Opera Press Release

Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra Presents
“A NIGHT AT THE OPERA”

(LINCOLN, Neb. – September 28, 2018) Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra returns to the Lied Center of Performing Arts for their CLASSICAL SERIES performance, A NIGHT AT THE OPERA on October 12, at 7:30 p.m, featuring Opera Omaha Holland Community Fellows Chabrelle Williams, soprano,  and Jessica Johnson Brock, mezzo-soprano.

Led by Music Director Edward Polochick, the program will open with OVERTURE TO CANDIDE, by Leonard  Bernstein.

“We are so thrilled to be bringing opera to Lincoln”, says Music Director Edward Polochick.  “Whether you have seen several full length operas, or are new to the genre, this concert will have something that will delight everyone”.

Polochick is particularly excited about the collaboration with Opera Omaha. “Getting to work with their talented Holland Community Fellows, Chabrelle Williams and Jessica Johnson Brock is very special to us. Our repertoire for the evening spans different operatic time periods and styles, from American, to French and Italian, and we needed virtuosic voices to match the incredible repertoire, which we found in this collaboration”.

Tickets for the concert are available for purchase online at www.lincolnsymphony.com, by phone at (402) 476‑2211, or by visiting Lincoln’s Symphony Orchestra’s box office (233 S. 13th St., Ste. 1702).

NET Radio’s Genevieve Randall will host a pre-concert chat at 6:45 p.m. the evening of the concert in the Steinhart Room with Maestro Polochick. LSO’s preconcert chats are supported in part by Humanities Nebraska and Mattson Ricketts Law Firm.
